I first met Don while working at 505 pearl St when employed by Saturn Rings in the early 70's, my father's company. Don was always kind to me and what I remember the msot was how he taught me how to go on the road as a salesman. I was in my early 20's, had no experience and Don took me under his wing, explained how to plan a sales trip, pack, make appointments, plane reservations, hotels reservations and what to expect while traveling selling jewelry on the road. I still remember well his laugh and willingness to help me in my youth. Don went on to start his own company and I moved on to do my own thing and we lost touch for many years. More recently I ran into Don at the Troop I post as my sailing club held their yearly meetings there. Don and his ever present smile and grace was as welcoming as always.I ran into him again while attending the Allentown art festival, don was outside greeting guests. He allowed my wife to use the ladies room without a purchase of drink or food. Always warm and friendly; a true influence in my life, I was very sad to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family and friends, Don was one of kind gentleman and left an indelable mark on many lives.

I just talked to you Sat. when you were in the hospital in Ames. You never wanted to worry anybody & you said you'd be fine. It saddens my heart that I won't be able to see you again but I find comfort in knowing that our Dear Lord didn't want you to live out the rest of your life in so much pain. Yesterday there was a beautiful Eagle flying in circles above my house. I stood in awe watching it cause we don't see Eagles in the city. I know now, that it was you, flying free, coming to say Hi. You are with Aunt Pat now, which is where I know you wanted to be. This I also find comfort in but I will miss you dearly!!!!!! And you know Uncle Don, I'm gonna bring that jar of olives to your funeral!!!! I love you Uncle Don! Rest in Peace!
Your Loving Niece,
Shelly
