Donald Kutcher Obituary

EDINA, Mo. - Donald Stanley Kutcher, 74, of Edina, Missouri, passed away at his home, Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born April 25, 1951, in Keokuk, the son of Stanley and Lena Mae Thomas Kutcher.

Don was united in marriage to Phyllis Leann Klote on Sept. 30, 1977 in Edina, Missouri.

Don is survived by his wife Phyllis Kutcher of Edina, two sons, Eric (Kate) Kutcher of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Drew Kutcher of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, one brother Dick Kutcher of Keokuk, and a special friend, sister-in-law Carolyn Klote of Kirksville, Missouri. Also surviving are three grandchildren Cameron Lawrence Kutcher and Teagan and Evie Land. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lena Kutcher, his step-mother Helen Kutcher, one sister Betty Joan Kutcher, two brothers Sonny (Meme) Kutcher and Steve Melgaard, his mother and father-in-law Rose Ann and Jerome Klote.

Don was employed for 37 years with USDA/NRCS as a Technician. After retiring in 2014 he started working for himself surveying terraces, water ways and ponds to the day he passed away. He graduated from Keokuk High School and attended the University of Iowa. He worked in Adair, Scotland, Knox, Lewis and Shelby Counties. Don had received numerous awards from the government for his services.

Don was a member of the Baring Country Club where he loved giving boat rides, fishing, reading, and spending time with family and friends at the lake.

His hobbies were traveling the backroads with his family, working on his vehicles and woodworking. Don coached baseball and enjoyed keeping the game's scorecard. He went to many Indy 500's over the years and enjoyed many forms of racing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 28, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. and services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Ken Berry will officiate the services. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Don are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery and or Hospice of Northeast Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
