There aren't many that don't share the sentiment that Donnie was one of the kindest people they have met. He was always there to offer a big hug or listen without judgment. We could all be better offering some of the kindness in life that he did without fail daily. He was a sports loving nut with the Texas Rangers taking the top seed in his sports bracket. There wasn't often you would catch him without his favorite hat of the week and if you did, there were five more in the car he could run and grab. Donnie loved immensely and that included his family and friends. Donnie never missed an opportunity to add a little humor to any occasion or situation he was in. He might have toed that line a little bit, but could also look up and say #keepsmiling!

Donnie is survived by the love of his life Christi Koss and bonus daughter Emily; His mother Laurie Large, brother Billy Ventrca, sister Heather Coit and her husband Merel Coit; nieces Breanna Coit and Maddison Coit, and nephew Deven Coit; bonus nephews Kymere Harris, Dari'Auntay Elliott, Bentley Berg and Bellamy Berg, Kai Jaggears and Nash Jaggears; numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Billy Large; grandmother Angeline Juricek, grandfather Ernest Ventrca, and grandparents Bill and Faye Large; Uncles Bobby Large and Benny Large.

Visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, at Chism-Smith Funeral Home, located at 403 South Britain Road, Irving, Texas, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:30 PM.
