It's difficult to realize that Donnie Lenz has left us three years ago. His presence still occupies my thoughts and life and will do so as long as I'm still here. What a special guy. I'm sure my feelings are shared by EVERYONE who ever knew Donnie or was his friend. RIP my friend - and keep saving me a seat up there.

I extend my sincere condolences to Sally for the passing of Don, as one of my best friends, and the best spouse Sally could ever have wished for in her life!
Without repeating, I second every word J. Bruce Miller expressed in his Condolence remarks.
I respect your desires to have a family gathering with Don during his last moments. I am sorry I was unable to come to Louisville for a later memorial at BSCC.
On the more pleasant side I am preparing a small memoir of my times with Donnie, including you, while I was a member at BSCC.
May Don rest in peace. God bless his soul and your family.

To Jennifer and the Lenz cousins
I wish I had met your father and family much sooner;
it was the genealogy link that helped us find our relationship as cousins.
I am so sorry to see that your father has passed,
and I wish we had more time to talk about how our family names changed from the Original Linz, to Lenz and many Lentz cousins.
Jenn, time will soften your loss, but missing a parent never goes away. . Remember every happy day you spent with your dad, and treasure it.
Blessings for all, and my love and prayers for you , and all of your family, especially your mother and siblings who now should share the wonderful stories of days past!
keep in touch cousin Jennifer....my love and deepest sympathy.
God's best blessings on all the family

I am saddened to learn that Donnie has passed. He was, truly, 'one of a kind.' Marvelous sense of humor, enjoyed his life and did so, daily, with great relish. He was one of those people who found goodness in everyone and never met a stranger. The wry grin and smile in his picture in this obituary tells it all and perfectly captures Donnie Lenz.
I have many wonderful memories of our times together. They will last a lifetime. Donnie fought the 'good battle' with his illness and did so with his routine determination and positive outlook. Now he can be without all the pain and discomfort as he has a good laugh (and maybe a wager or two) with the "Man Upstairs." Rest in peace Donnie, it was an honor to have had the opportunity to have known you and to have been among your multitude of friends.
