It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald R. Lietz, who left this world peacefully on September 13, 2025, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of the late Diane Lietz (nee Fassnacht), with whom he shared 44 wonderful years of marriage.
Donald was a loving father to Mary (Larry) McManis, Missy (Don) Rechel, Mike (Lora) Lietz, and Melanie "Charlie" Lietz (Don Korte). He took great pride in being a grandfather, cherishing his grandchildren: Michael (Melissa) McManis, Nick McManis (Allison Sherman), Savannah Rechel (Mitch Wiethorn), Maddie (Brad) Murphy, Dan (Kayla) Lietz, Joe (Shelby) Lietz, John (Mara) Lietz, Kate (Sam) Schultz, Tyler (Katie) Richter, Kelly (Noah) Griffith, and Jess (Jake) McBreen. As a devoted great-grandfather, he delighted in the lives of Henry, Arthur McManis, Lainey, Harper Wiethorn, Walker Murphy, Riley, Jaxson, Reagan Lietz, Ellie, Hunter Lietz, Paisley, Willy Griffith, Brooks McBreen, and Addison Richter.
Donald was the son of the late Raymond (Francis) Lietz and the brother of the late Barbara (Ralph) Niehauser, Tom, and Kenneth Lietz.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest at New Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Lietz family kindly suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Cincinnati or Christ Hospital at 2139 Auburn Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45219.
Donald leaves behind a profound legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
