Donald Ernest Lobb, age 97 of Livonia passed away on April 8, 2025. He is the beloved and devoted husband of 68 years to the late Marcelene (née Crane) Lobb; loving father of five children, Candace (the late Richard) Glidden, Steven (Rebecca) Lobb, David (Ellen) Lobb, Julie (Michael) Duckworth and Douglas (Terry) Lobb.
Donald grew up in Linden, Michigan. He graduated from Linden High School in 1944 and later enlisted in the United States Army. Donald had returned home to Linden, Michigan after proudly serving his country overseas. Shortly after his return, he went on a double date and met the love of his life, Marcelene Crane. She had recently graduated from Linden High School. They married on April 14, 1951. Together, they raised their family of five children who blessed them with ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Donald was a long-time member of Newburgh UMC where he served as a Trustee; taught Sunday School; was active in the choir; and other capacities. Donald worked at Standard Oil/Amoco in a variety of positions for his entire career, retiring in 1982. He found golf later in his life and became an avid golfer with two career holes in one.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will resume at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, Michigan on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M.
Donald will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Linden, Michigan on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
