LIMA -- Donald "Don" R. Marshall, age 72, of Lima, passed at 4:30 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Otterbein-Cridersville.
He was born August 5th, 1950 in Elm Rock, KY to the late parents, Newton and Gracie (Sparkman) Marshall. On January 3rd, 1970 until 1981, he was married to Fay C. (Summa) Johnson.
Don is survived by his children- Donna (Tim Windau) Huysman, Lima and Brian (Brianne) Marshall, Wapakoneta; his grandchildren- Lauren Huysman, Kaedan, Konnor, Scarlett Marshall and Keagan Sponsler; his siblings- Haulie Marshall, Ada and Cynthia Collins, Lima; many nieces and nephews and Don's longtime friend, Frank Summa.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by a Son-in-law, Scott Huysman, Sister-in-law, Jewel Marshall and Brother-in-law, Edward Collins.
In Don's earlier years, he worked at his family's pallet company, Marshall Lumber. He continued to work at many lumberyards, 84 Lumber, Furrows and Moore's in Findlay, Ohio. He then retired in 2015, from Gordon Lumber in Findlay, Ohio. He was a hard worker and was awarded of his hard work ethic from his employer. Don's hobbies were working on cars, watching drag racing and listening to music. His favorite car was Corvettes. Don enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports especially basketball. He was on the quiet side but once you got him talking he would tell stories about his younger years. He was a fighter and he would always say, "I will just go with the flow". He will be missed.

Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Eastside Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. His funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home, with Rev. James Gatchell officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Westminster Cemetery.
