Donald Edwin Martin

Donald Edwin Martin, 69, of Salem, VA, passed away on October 18, 2025. He was born May 1, 1956, to the late Master Sergeant William and Louise Martin.

Don has gone to join his loved ones who passed away before him, including his youngest brother, Christopher Martin, and his beloved pets.

After serving in the United States Navy, Don worked for Magic City Sprinkler before becoming a Virginia State Fire Marshal. He was now enjoying retirement.

Don was an avid animal lover. He even adopted a white rat from the SPCA. He loved classic rock and played the guitar. He loved traveling and building model cars.

He was survived by his brothers Benjamin and Billy, and Billy's wife Mary, and his sister Dianna. He was also survived by his nieces Emma and Addison and nephews Will and Drew.

He was also survived by his fiancée and love of his life Joy Jarvis, and her children, Wes and Brianne. And their grandchildren, Laiken, Natalie, Noah, Ollie, and Evie.

Don also had many good friends and neighbors, and assorted relatives.

The Military service with honors for Don will be held on Friday, November 7th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Va.
