Mr. Donald Bret McIver, 43, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Bret was preceded in death by his father, J. Donald "Donny" McIver.
The family will greet friends at 2 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, 400 3rd Street, Jackson, South Carolina 29831, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3 PM with Revs. Brian Henderson and Gary Farina officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David McIver, Ty Stokes, John Iossi, Marlin Brown, Matthew Young, and Luke Danner.
Bret was born in Augusta, GA. He was a faithful member of Millbrook Baptist Church and their choir, orchestra, and Singles Sunday School Class. He volunteered his time with the BRICK Missions, "Building Restoration in Christ's Kingdom."
A talented musician, Bret played in his high school and college bands. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Charleston Southern, a Master's in Collegiate Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Seminary where he was currently enrolled with two classes left toward a Master's in Worship Leadership.
Bret was an avid Gamecock fan and a supporter of The Gamecock Club. In the past, he had been an umpire and referee for local teams.
Bret lived in the moment and he was always up for an adventure of some kind.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Amanda Kay Glazener McIver, his brother William David McIver, a great aunt, Shirley
Moon (Bill), many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his precious puppies, Rosie and Pickles.
