Donald E. Meyers

1959 - 2025

Donald E. Meyers, 66, of Ft. Madison, passed away suddenly at 4:11 a.m. at his home on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025.

He was born on May 8, 1959, in Keokuk to Paul and Elizabeth Bevering Meyers. Don was a dedicated employee his whole life and worked for Meyers and James Construction for 25 years. On July 11, 2014 he married Jeri Beach Hamilton in Ft. Madison. Don was a graduate of Keokuk High School and served in the US Marines. He loved to work on everything and there was nothing he couldn't fix. Don and Jeri enjoyed socializing and going to see live music. He was an excellent cook and loved to barbecue while enjoying a few beers. Most of all, Don loved spending time with his family, fishing with Dakota and talking to his neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri Meyers of Ft. Madison; two stepsons, Matt (Shawna) Hamilton and Dakota Hamilton of Ft. Madison; four step grandchildren; three brothers, Dick (Gail) Meyers, Kevin Meyers of Ankeny and Chris (Stephanie) Meyers of Keokuk; three sisters, Patty Schlobohm of Raleigh, North Carolina, Sue (Randy) Crawford of Bedford, Texas; Michelle Hageman of Croton and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Steve and Carl and a sister, Kathy.

A graveside service with Military Honors conducted by the Keokuk Honor Guard will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at Keokuk National Cemetery. Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
