Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 29, 1956, Don was the son of Donald and Genevieve (Zyla) Miller. On March 17, 1979, he married the love of his life, Pamela Rheinschmidt, at St. Casmere in Detroit. Together they proudly welcomed five children: Melissa, Angela, Donald, Mary, and Leo. Don and Pam enjoyed 40 years together until Pam's passing in 2019.
A man of many interests, Don was always keeping busy. He worked as a craftsman for Lakeland Mills for several years, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Fondly called "Handy, Dandy, Don" by Pam, he also loved building forts and cribs for his grandchildren. Don was also an avid Lions football fan. However, most of all, Don delighted in time spent with his family.
Left to cherish Don's memory are his children Melissa (Tim) Seaman, Angela (Tony) Miller, Donald (Jaimi) Miller, Mary (Japhett) Gallagher, Leo Miller, and his favorite "kid," his dog Dixie; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary (Tim) Habel, Robert (Ginger) Miller, and Gerard Miller.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Pamela; and sister-in-law Autumn Miller.
Per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1-4 pm . Those who wish may make memorial donations to his family to assist with funeral costs. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Crystal.
