Donald Ray Miller passed away peacefully in Irving, Texas, on October 21, 2025, at
the age of 93.
Born in Caddo, Oklahoma, on November 21, 1931, Donald was a beloved son,
brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He lived a life
marked by faith, integrity, service, and devotion to his family.
In May 1951, Donald proudly joined the United States Air Force, serving his country
during the Korean War era. During his service, he met the love of his life, Roseline,
who was also serving in the Air Force. The two formed a deep bond founded on
shared values of honor, faith, and dedication. They were married in 1953, beginning a
lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and commitment that spanned more than
seven decades.
After his military service, Donald held various jobs including with the Irving Police
Department (Badge #8) in 1955 and Humble Oil in Irving, San Angelo, and Midland,
Texas. In 1968, he and Roseline moved back to Irving, where he worked for several
companies including Irving Countertop, Omalco, and ultimately retired from the City
of Irving as a Building Inspector.
He was a devoted member of Oak View Baptist Church and the Irving Christian
Anglers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Frank Miller; his mother, Lillie Miller; his
sister, Norma Jones; and his brother, James Miller.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roseline Miller, and his daughters, Deborah Stanley
and husband Bob of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Janice Koenig and husband
Richard of Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
Donald was the proud grandfather of Misty Dunklin and wife Cari Ledesma, Summer
Woolverton and husband Eric; Christopher Short and wife Lesley Kite; Justin Nelson and wife Karlyn.
Amber Olson and husband Philip; Trevor Nelson; Brandy Dudley and husband Jason.
and Matt Stanley and wife Brandy.
He was also blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren: Taylor and Hunter
Woolverton; Paisley and Gage Olson; Presley and Brody Nelson; Ella and Nora
Dudley; Luke Nelson; Delanie and Alea Short; Mia Kathain; Skylar and Lennon
Dunklin; and Ava, Lyla, and Ella Stanley.
Donald's quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering love for his family were the
cornerstones of his life. He was a man of principle and faith who led by
example-humble, hardworking, and kind. His legacy will live on through the
countless lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.
He has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak
View Baptist Church at ovbc.net.
