Donald William Moore died February 17, 2025, at home after an 18-month battle with esophageal cancer.
He was born in Providence RI on August 17, 1951, the son of the late Donald and Leona (Fisher) Moore. He was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and the University of Rhode Island (Mathematics and Computer Science).
He worked on a wide variety of software and hardware development projects in military, commercial and government fields beginning with the Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport, RI, and later including Norden Systems in Merrimack NH, Data Media Corporation in Nashua and Perimeter Technology in Manchester NH, Numa in Amherst NH and lastly with the State of NH in the Department of Information Technology.
He was a member of the Irish Wolfhound Association of New England (IWANE), Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi Association (GPYTCA), and the Harley Owners Group (HOG).
He is survived by his best friend and wife Katherine, a sister Carol MacNaught and Ken of Warwick RI, a brother Steven Moore and Michele of North Carolina, children Michael Auger and Kate, Richard Auger and Jacqui, Tina Langlois, and April Mitchell and Zach, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held on March 7, 2025, at 11 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 172 King St, Boscawen, NH, followed by a gathering until 1 PM.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
