Donald Gene Negaard

Donald Gene Negaard, of the Alexandria community, was born on April 7, 1943, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024. 

During his lifetime, Donald was a salesman, athlete and artist. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing, playing tennis and playing golf. He also enjoyed painting wildlife and taking photographs of the world around him. 

Donald was a Christian, which shaped his interactions with family and friends. He will be celebrated for his artistic abilities, unique sense of humor and his love for those closest to him. 

He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Michelle Arlt (Negaard), and his son, Wade Negaard. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon LeGare (Negaard), brother, Dick Negaard and grandchildren, Emma, Hanna, and Megan Arlt. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Olander Negaard and Clara Jeanette Negaard (Scott), as well as his brother, Larry Negaard. 

Donald's visitation and memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 2702 MN-29, Alexandria, MN 56308. The visitation will take place on November 18, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM. Immediately following the service will be a small reception with desserts and coffee. Donald Gene Negaard’s legacy of kindness and creativity will endure in the lives of those he loved.
