Donald Wayne Nitz

Donald W. Nitz, 80 of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born October 14, 1941 in Barberton to the late Greely and Opal Nitz. Don retired from B&W after many years of service and also worked for Riceland Cabinets. Don was a member of Barberton Church of Christ and loved wood working and model trains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Allen, Roy and Glen Nitz; sister, Norma Kirtley; and daughter-in-law, Denise Nitz. Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Geraldine Nitz; sons, Ken (Melinda) Nitz, Mark (Liz) Nitz, Scott (Rose) Freed, Doug (Rachel) Nitz and Steve (Amy) Nitz; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers John and Richard Nitz; sister, Carol Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, 11:00 am at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Rd., Akron with Pastor Keith Welch officiating.
