Donald A. Oltz

September 20, 1946 - July 26, 2025

Donald A. Oltz 78, the husband of Donna Powers Oltz of Fleming, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in Upstate Community Hospital, Syracuse. Born in Ithaca, September 20, 1946, he was the son of the late Allen Oltz and Georgia Cornwell and was graduate of Moravia High School, Class of 1964. For 12 years, Don was employed as a Deputy with the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office. He then worked for National Grid as an electrician, retiring after 25 years. Following retirement, he owned and operated his pest control business for 10 years. Don was actively involved in civic affairs, often serving on several committees and boards. He was elected to the Fleming Town Board and was currently the Town of Fleming Supervisor.

Don was never one to sit still, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, family functions and was envied for his humor and being a jokester. Don cherished the time spent with his wife and family and will never be forgotten.

In addition to his wife, Donna. He is survived by one son, Steven Oltz (Amanda); granddaughters, Nichole Oltz and Rachael Pickert; siblings, Gary Oltz (Melissa), MaryAnn Carmen, Donna Harding (Gary), Susan Morehouse (Benjamin), Kathy Watrous (Gary), Elaine Schneider and Robert Cornwell; brother-in-law, Tom Gath; and several nieces and nephews.

Don is predeceased by his parents; sister, Connie Gath; and brother-in-law, Jerry Schneider

Calling hours will be conducted from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, August 4, 2025 in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Emerson Park, 6914 East Lake Road, Auburn, NY 13021.
