Donald W. Ortner, Sr., 93, of West Lawn, passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 22, 2025 in Spruce Manor, West Reading. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John E. and Mary V. (Sherman) Ortner, and was married to Carolyn J. (DiGuardi) Ortner, West Lawn.

Donald graduated from the Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, PA, and attended Kutztown University. He was an Industrial Engineer at the Stanley G. Flagg Company, Stowe, PA, for 24 years, last working in 1994 when the foundry closed.

Donald loved going to the casinos and golfing. He and Carolyn also enjoyed day trips together, particularly to South Philadelphia for special Italian pastries at the many neighborhood bakeries.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by two children: Jennifer L. Ortner, West Lawn, and Kevin D. Ortner, Temple, along with grandchildren: Donald W. Ortner, III, and Shane Ortner, and great grandchildren Antoinette, Melodie and Brianna. He was predeceased by two children: Donald W. Ortner, Jr., and Brenda Ortner, as well as three siblings.
