Donald Gordon Hubbard, 67, passed away on the morning of Friday, July 5, 2024, at Houston Medical Center.
Donald was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on August 31, 1956. He was the son of Donald Hubbard and the late Erma Pecon Hubbard. After earning his associate’s degree, Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served with honor and dedication.
Following his military service, Donald was a tech rep at American West Airlines for 15 years before he pursued a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic at Robins Air Force Base, where he diligently served for several years.
Outside of his professional life, Donald found great joy in the company of his family. He cherished moments spent golfing with his sons and grandsons and exploring new places during travels with loved ones. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in supporting his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors, whether academic or athletic.
In addition to his mother, Donald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emma Douglas.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 18 years, Shelley Hubbard; children, Donald Hubbard, II, Brandie Hubbard, Holly Sandoval, Matthew Sandoval (Jennifer), Amber Jackson (Matt), Carol Deluna, and Heather Alexander (John); grandchildren, Sunshine Nelson, Damien Larson, Keith Larson, Abigail Hubbard, Connor Hubbard, Adam Sessoms, Matthew Sandoval, Jr., Makenzie Sandoval, Kailee Fowler; father, Donald Hubbard; sister, Donnalee Nicholas (Steve); nieces and nephews, Ciara Long, Christopher and Brandon Nicholas.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Military Honors Donald “Papa” Gordon Hubbard will be laid to rest privately.
