Karen and family,

We are so sorry for your loss. Don was such a fun-loving great guy and we have enjoyed being friends throughout the years. My fondest memory is the year Don dressed as Santa and went to Whiteheads for the annual kid Christmas party, when Ronald, Lissa and Gabe were about 3. Don was shouting "ho Ho" so loud, he scared the kids and no one would sit on his lap. After he left, the kids cried because they didn't get to tell Santa what they wanted! I ran outside and told him to come back and talk about half as loud. It all worked out and everyone was finally happy.

We had some fun times and can't image life without him. Thankfully, you have some great memories to comfort you.

Dear Karen,

From the time I was a young child I remember many stories from my Uncle Jim about "little Donnie Pauloski" a nice young "kid" in his neighborhood in Lincoln Park. Years later, Donnie came up to my parents house as he was passing through Traverse City - just to visit. Then in more recent years my Uncle Jim was excited that Donnie was his neighbor on Elk Lake. Our family too, enjoyed the several times we, in recent history, had the opportunity to meet, talk, and laugh with Donnie and your family. He was certainly a remarkable, giving, and brave man. Your are all in our prayers. Much love, Jennifer Steiner (niece of Jim Gurd)

I'll always remember the time Don and boys spent with Boy Scout troop 302 in Marquette, especially the trip he organized for us to Isle Royale National Park. That was a fun week. I also enjoyed bugging Don about the Lions being a Packer fan. Several times he showed up at our house by boat with the dogs. Goodbye, Don. We'll miss you.

Karen & family,

I am so sorry to hear about Don's passing. He was by far the most effective Michigan Waterfowl Association President that we ever had. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
