Donald Gene Persick

Donald Gene Persick passed away at his home in Plaquemine on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 74. He was a native and lifelong resident of Plaquemine. Donald was a retired carpenter who worked in the chemical industry. Visitation will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine on Monday, April 18th, 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Grace Memorial Park. Donald is survived by his wife of 40 years, Darlene Crowe Persick; daughter, Jacqueline Deloach; two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Racquel Weatherford; four great-grandchildren, Jaelyn and Landon Collins and Adam Jr. and Austin Poston; four brothers, Tommy Persick (Olivia), Leo Persick (Lynn), Ardie Persick (Jamie), Terry "Sookie" Persick (Karen); three godchildren, Betty Jane Blanchard, Shelby Brad Hemenway and Bryan Schaper; special cousin and friend, Donna Landry and Bill Lang; numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donald Gene Persick Jr.; parents, John Leo Persick and Sarah Jane Nickens Sevario; nephew, Terry Persick, Jr. He was a former member of Local 1098. Donald was an avid fan of LSU and Saints football. He and his wife, with their fur babies, Brees and Rico, enjoyed going camping in their travel trailer. To know Donald, was to love him. He was the life of the party. Pallbearers will be Shelby and Brad Hemenway, Daryl Webre, Jason Walker, Jason Lang, Glenn Persick, Clint and Kylie Persick.
