Donald Bernard Pobst, age 85, passed away May 4, 2025 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born March 14, 1940 in Jasper County, MO, son of the late Elmer Pobst and Gertrude Englen-Pobst.
Donald was owner/operator of Donald Pobst Farms for over 70 years and he was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors – squirrel hunting, purple martins, and planting trees.
In February of 1960 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, he was married to Carolyn Sue Tidwell-Pobst, she survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.
Other survivors include two sons, Aaron Alan (Melette) Pobst and Glenn Anthony (Tonya) Pobst both of Sikeston, MO; one daughter Cassandra Darlene (Jeff) Limbaugh of Sikeston, MO; six grandchildren, Matt (Jessica) Limbaugh, Garrett (Hope) Limbaugh, Drayton Pobst (Macy Eubanks), Khielynn Claire Pobst, Tylan Pobst, and Avery (Lacey) Pobst; three great-grandchildren, Skylar Limbaugh, Dallas Limbaugh, and Gabe Renteria; and two expected great-grandchildren, Archer and Gunnar.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Pobst, James Pobst, and Gerald Pobst.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. Justin Pobst will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matt Limbaugh, Garrett Limbaugh, Drayton Pobst, Tylan Pobst, Avery Pobst, and nephew, Eric Pobst.
The Pobst family request memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P O Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis TN 38101.
