Chambersburg - Donald (Johnny) F. Pool, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by family and cared for by wonderful, caring doctors and nurses.



He is survived by his wife Pat, of 65 years, which they just celebrated Monday, January 13. He is also survived by 3 children; Debra Goetz (husband Perry), Michael Pool (wife Cindy) and Beth Gibbons (husband John), three grandchildren; Cory Goetz (wife Nikki), Emily Brookens (husband Casey) and Meaghan Gibbons, six great-grandchildren; Hannah and Ethan Goetz, Sawyer, Boden and Mannix Brookens, Caleb Deuschle, as well as brother, Gerald Pool. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Esther Pool, along with 2 brothers and 4 sisters.



His early occupation was well-drilling followed by a 35-year career at Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD as a diesel mechanic.



Johnny and Pat did a lot of traveling with Mack Golden Bulldogs. He loved going to Canada to fish. After retirement, they bought a motorhome and toured most of the United States.



He was always the handyman of the neighborhood, helping anyone with a need. One of his proud accomplishments was building a cabin in Amberson Valley.



Johnny was a faithful member of Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church.



A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Pastor Stan McCammon officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service from 9-11am with services to follow. Interment will be in Norland Cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Johnny's name may be made to Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church, 8204 Ft. McCord Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
