On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Donald Lee Ray, Sr., 84, went to be with our Lord. He was the son of the late Bertha Bragg and Earlie Ray and was the oldest of five children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lottie Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Don (Jennifer) Ray, Jr. of Covington, Tenn.; one sister, Betty Ray of Corinth; two brothers, Jerry Ray and Jimmy Ray, both of Corinth and a lifelong family friend, Sarita (James) Delgadia of Corinth.
Don retired from HumpCo in Memphis. He enjoyed working on vehicles in his spare time. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. After Don Jr. married Jennifer, he gained a partner in crime. They enjoyed shopping for antiques and browsing flea markets. He looked forward to their visits because he always knew that they were going to eat at Cracker Barrel or the Dinner Bell.
Graveside services were held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington, Tenn. Covington Funeral Home Funeral Home had charge of services and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.covington funeralhome.com.
