Donald William Robinson Sr.

Donald Willian Robinson Sr., of Chesterfield passed away November 28, 2025 at the age of 80.
Don was born on June 11, 1945 in Onaway, Michigan to William and Claris (Bush) Robinson. On June 6, 1966 Don married Carol Ann Thursam at St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores; together they were married 53 years when Carol passed away in 2019. Don worked for DTE as an underground splicer for over 30 years when he retired in the late 1990's. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed picking berries. He was proud of his pole barn in Onaway and enjoyed spending many years there from April to November. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Beloved husband of the late Carol; loving father of Heather (Steve) Davis, Hillary (Roman) Sobilo and Donald, Jr.; adored grandfather of Stephanie, Christopher, Shaun and Keegan; cherished brother of Diane Nessel, the late Dale (Jean) Robinson, the late Beverly Milligan and the late Barbara Lawrence; and brother-in-law of Dorothy Desrochers. Don was
preceded in death by his in laws Arthur and Dorothy Thursam and sister-in-law Susan Booth. Don is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation for Don will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with an instate time of 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Worship Center, 47120 Romeo Plank Rd, Macomb.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Forgotten Harvest or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
