Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby Lee Sentell, Cecil Sentell and Louis Sentell, sister, Dorothy Oden and nephews, Steve Oglesby, Sr. and Sam Oglesby.
Survivors include his stepson, Steve Oglesby and wife, Tara; sister-in-law, Connie Sentell; three step-grandchildren, Christopher Parker, Tyler Parker and Kaley Parker; nephew, Bubba Oglesby; nieces, Sara Shaw (Homer), Becky Sentell, Jennifer Hudson (John) and Tonya Rogers (Austin) and ten great-nieces and nephews.
Doug was born May 2, 1947 in Reform, Alabama to the late William "Kate" Sentell and Sarah Collier Sentell. He was a great man to so many. He was genuinely caring and giving to all he met, and had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need. Whether it be a couch to sleep on or going to rescue someone broke down on the side of the road. He has helped so many. He was a retired log truck driver and he enjoyed gardening and working the land. You could almost always catch him on his tractor doing something. In his younger days he was one of the best mechanics around, and still pretty swift to tell anyone with motor troubles how to fix it. Doug will be greatly missed and we will hold him in our hearts until we meet again.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Parker, Tyler Parker, John Hudson, Austin Rogers, Ben McDill and Michael Oglesby.
Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Ray Boone, Norment McElvoy, Lee Rye and Alvin Homan.
