Donald Kenneth Smith

Don was a colleague, a mentor, and a true friend. Though he was a generation ahead of me, he never made the distance feel wide. Instead, he shared his wisdom generously, teaching me what relationship marketing really meant-not as a tactic, but as a way of moving through the world with trust and respect. He was a master of it, and many of us are better for having learned at his side.
We logged countless miles together at Amber that felt more like an adventure than a job, traveling the world and collecting more frequent-flyer miles than anyone I knew. Along the way, we bonded over wine and music, especially our shared love of Pink Floyd, attending several concerts and letting those songs become part of our story. I will always be grateful for the journeys we took, the lessons he taught, and the friendship we had.
