Donald Lee Stewart was born on March 13, 1963 in Radford, Virginia. He passed away on August 6, 2025 from a heart attack at his home in
Woodstock, Georgia at the age of 62. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was a proud graduate of Radford University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Management. He went on to build a successful career in retail and logistics management. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication.
Donald's life was marked by his deep love for his family and his passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing baseball, and more recently, discovering a love for pickleball. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, where he was saved, baptized and his faith grew which guided much of his life. Above all, Donald will be remembered for being an amazing and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His warm heart, playful spirit, pulling pranks and quick sense of humor will be missed. He had a natural ability to make people laugh, lightening up any room he entered with a well-timed joke or a mischievous grin. He was a generous person and enjoyed helping others. Whether teasing loved ones with affection or finding humor in life's small moments, his laughter was contagious and unforgettable. His joy in making others smile was one of his greatest gifts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kimberley Reed Stewart; his son, Devan Stewart (Kenzie); his daughter, Sidney Stewart; his cherished grandson, Denver Stewart; mother-in-law, Susie Stamper (Ed); sister, Shirley Hodge; niece, Sheila Thayer (Wes), and nephew Joey Miles (Bethany); sister-in-law, Kristi Thomas (Craig); nieces, Marin and Graelin Thomas, and nephew Easton Thomas; sister-in-law, Ann Hall (Eric); niece and nephews, Amber Young, Justin and Jacob Hall; sister-in-law, Susan Webb (Scott); nieces, Sterling Stewart (Trevor), Maddie Cupp, Josie Galliher, and Ceira Webb; brother-in-law, Chris Stamper (Sarah); nephew and niece Bren Stamper and Amber Johnson. He also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Netty and Denver Stewart, father-in-law, Milton Reed; grandmothers, Georgia Stewart and Hazel Reed; brother-in-law, Keith Hodge.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Poole's Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Donald's life will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Poole's Funeral Home; 1970 Eagle Dr.,
Woodstock, Georgia 30189 with Pastor Derek Ray officiating.
Place of Internment at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
