KINGSPORT - Donald Edward Teague, Sr., 94, of Kingsport, was called to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Mountain Home, TN. Don was born in Ohio and came to Kingsport in his childhood. He attended Sullivan High School and began his military career at the age of 17, a decorated veteran serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Don operated Teague Grocery in Gibsontown and was owner of AAA Hauling. He also worked at Eastman for 17 years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dora Mae Teague; son, Donald E. Teague, Jr.; daughter, Donna Marie Conrad; grandson, Jacob Teague; sisters, Audrey, Barbara and Shirley; brother Paul.
Survivors include children, Deborah Payne and Russell, Patricia Teague, Robert Teague and Rachel, George Teague and Debbie, and Nicholas Teague and Mary; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and beloved cousin, Charlie Penley.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Russell R. Payne, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Military honors by The American Legion 3/265.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Color Guard, V.O. Dobbins Building, 301 Louis St., #301, Kingsport, TN 37660.
