Donald Kahle Weaver Jr. was born in Seattle on March 9, 1929 to Donald K. and Bernice R. Weaver. He passed away on August 22nd after a heart attack he suffered on August 18th. He was a graduate of Laurelhurst Grade School, Roosevelt High School and the University of Washington Business School. He served in the US Coast Guard for 3 years during the Korean War. He married Evie Northfield, the love of his life, March 21, 1952. After serving his country he went to work in the family business, Crescent Manufacturing Company, which his Great Uncles, the Kahle brothers began in 1909. He became president in 1973 and served until the company was sold in 1986. He then managed the family’s real estate holdings. He was active in the business community as President of Seattle Rotary and the Rainier Club. He was a board member of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the American Spice Trade Association, Puget Sound Savings bank, Key Bank, the Washington Athletic Club, and the Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Don and Evie travelled the world especially aboard cruise ships; and enjoyed vacation time in Palm Desert, CA where he was an avid tennis player. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He is survived by his wife Evie, sons Don Weaver III (Carol), Dick Weaver, daughter Kristi Walker (Tony), grandchildren, Briana Samaniego (Tony), Daniel Weaver (fiancée, Nicole), Chad Weaver, John Fouhy (Kari), Brian Fouhy (Christa), Emily, Allie and Natalie Weaver, Kahle and Drew Walker, sister Sue Tomlinson (John) and their children. The family wishes to thank the Vashon Island Fire Dept, the Washington State Ferry Crew, Harborview Medical Center staff, especially Dr. Montgomery, Dr. Kim and cardiac nurse, Pauline Shull. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
