Donald "Kent" Whitaker, 70, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Kent was born on May 9, 1955, in Corona, California, to Donald Rae Whitaker and Betty Jean (Bissell) Whitaker. In his early years, Kent lived in several states, including California, Wyoming, Texas, and Arkansas, before settling in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Kent owned and operated A1 Construction in the Dallas Fort Worth area for many years and was proud of his work, including contributions to the construction of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. After retiring in the early 2000s, he moved to Booneville, Arkansas, where he enjoyed a quieter life close to parents, and other family members.

Kent was full of life and loved water sports, riding motorcycles, and cheering for his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Arkansas Razorbacks. More than anything, Kent loved his family, his church family at Harmony Assembly of God, and friends near and far.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sherry Jeanine Stephens; and his brother, David Ray Whitaker.

Kent is survived by his brother, Darrell Scott Whitaker of Booneville, AR; his sons, Dakota Whitaker and Colten Whitaker of Fort Worth, TX; his daughter, Christina Arnold and husband Sebastian of Fort Worth, TX; his grandchildren, Micah Whitaker and Sailor Arnold; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bulger Funeral Home.

A celebration of Kent's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Harmony Assembly of God Church in Paris, Arkansas. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Kent's later-in-life passion, The Children's Ministry at Harmony Assembly of God, P.O. Box 454, Paris, AR 72855.
