Donald Bennett Williams

Donald Bennett Williams, age 88, a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on December 24, 2025. Donald was born March 16, 1937 in Lakewood, Ohio. He was the son of James Laclin Williams and Hilda Bennett Williams. His wife, Louise, of 64 years preceded him in death. He is survived by his only child, Deborah Williams, of Lake Orion, Michigan. He was the beloved brother of Penelope (John) Bianco of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and uncle to Michael (Shannon) Bianco and Susan (Kevin) Broadrick of Salida, Colorado. Also, surviving are his three loving Labrador Retrievers: Rocket, Shianne and Cody.

Donald attended Aerospace Mechanics High School in Detroit, Michigan which specialized in aviation and aerospace curriculum. He earned a scholarship to Wayne State University, but decided to forego college and begin his career.

Donald was always a hard worker and could fix anything. His first job was a delivery person for Behrmann Printing. He then went on to own a gas station, followed by working as an automotive technician employed at several General Motors Dealerships in the Detroit area. He later was employed by the General Motors Corporation as a Design Check Product Engineer at the GM Technical Center for 26 years before his retirement in 2000.

Donald was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and dog training. His love for Hunting Retriever Dogs led him to found the St. Clair Flats Hunting and Retrieving Club in 1995; he was very proud of the club and its existence still today after 30 years. Donald always enjoyed assisting both new and existing members with training their dogs for competition and proudly owned over 20 dogs in his lifetime.

Donald also enjoyed winters spent in Key West, Florida deep sea fishing and more recently in Louisiana dog training.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date; internment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery; Clinton Township Michigan.
