Donald Ray Witcher Sr.

Donald Ray Witcher Sr, 77, and Diana Rae Witcher, 76, of Atwood, died Monday, April 15, 2024, as the result of a vehicle accident.
Don was born September 9, 1946, in Murfreesboro, TN, to Frank and Thelma (Miller) Witcher. He graduated from Willow Glen High School in San Jose, CA, in 1964. While in high school he worked at his stepfather Tony DiGiorgio's auto wrecking business. After graduating he served for nine years as a member of the United States Army Reserves.
Diana was born May 28, 1947, in Oakland, CA, to Jack and Lola (Orman) Cole. She graduated from Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, CA. During high school she met Don, and the couple were married on April 10, 1965, in California.
While Don took a job as a lineman for AT&T, Diana attended beauty school and ran her own shop. After their two children were born, she stayed at home with them. Eventually she returned to work at AT&T. Don climbed the ladder in the telephone industry and worked in management at Pacific Bell before taking a job at Lucent Technology that allowed him to travel the world installing new programs and doing training.
Don loved being a dad, volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader and coaching youth soccer. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf. One of his favorite things was the 1924 Dodge Brothers Coupe that he had rebuilt.
Diana was very artistic and enjoyed painting, crafts, knitting and crocheting. She loved spending time tending to her flowers and volunteering at the Old Depot in Atwood. She was an accomplished cook and loved trying out new recipes.
Don and Diana were both preceded in death by their parents. They are survived by their children, Diona Witcher and Don Witcher Jr; grandchildren, Cory Cathcart and Brandon Witcher; Don's brother Robert (Loretta) Witcher and Diana's siblings, Carol (Matt) Williams and Tommy Cole.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary, Atwood. Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood.
