Donald Howard Yowell

Donald Howard Yowell, Jr. age 58, of Waverly, TN, passed away on October 10, 2025 in McEwen, TN. Don was born on September 16, 1967, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended Compassion Church in Waverly and was a devout Christ follower. He attended Blackburn College in Illinois where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
Don leaves behind a legacy of love. His mission was to show the love of Jesus to all he encountered and he never met a stranger. He was present and in the moment and truly treasured time spent with his family and friends. The love of God and his fellow man was shown by his acts of service, cooking to feed the masses, and in fellowship. He enjoyed football and was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, and he also enjoyed studying history, playing golf, and video games.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Khraila Francis Yowell, Waverly, TN, son; Joshua Lee Yowell, TN, daughter; Melissa Makowski (Jordan), IL, mother; Maryl Quinney, Waverly, TN, brothers; Tim Quinney (Deveney), VA, and Ryan Quinney (Mo), VA, sister; Sarah Quinney Rettburg (Tony), VA, 3 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father; Donald Yowell, Sr. son; Jonathan Yowell, and step father; Leonard Quinney.
There will be a celebration of life for Don held on December 13, 2025, at Compassion Church in Waverly, TN with visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. followed by a luncheon. The service will be officiated by Garrette Milliken.
