Donald Francis Zeidler

Donald Francis Zeidler, 92, of Gay, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the home of his son Robert Zeidler and wife Evelyn Zeidler in Gilbert, Arizona.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Gilbert Memorial Park located at 2100 E Queen Creek Rd., Gilbert, Arizona 85297. Burial will take place in his hometown of Gay, West Virginia.

Donald was born on September 3, 1932, in Topeka, Kansas, to Ila Mae Zeidler and Francis Lawrence Zeidler.

Donald proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad where he retired in 1995. He attended Holy Redeemer Parish until he was diagnosed with Dementia and relocated to Arizona for care.

Donald often spoke with excitement about the time he owned a Cessna 172 airplane and the many flights he made. Throughout his life, Donald also had a passion for hunting and attending events of this nature, which brought him joy.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Francis Zeidler, of Gilbert, Arizona, Michael Frederick Zeidler of Rancho Cordova, California, and three daughters, Deborah Ann Henderson, of Terrell, Texas, Shirley Mae Goodwin, of Rancho Mirage, California, and Sharon Lynn Wallace, of Yuma, Arizona; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Shirley Zeidler, on June 16, 1998.
