Donato Jimenez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home - Oakhurst on Aug. 20, 2024.
Donato Sanchez Jimenez, 55, of Asbury Park, passed away August 18, 2024 at his apartment surrounded by friends and family.
Donato was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and moved to New Jersey in 1991, where he built a new life. In 1994, he met Sonia, who would become the love of his life and devoted partner for 30 wonderful years.
Donato was a social butterfly, he had an incredible ability to connect with people wherever he went regardless of language barriers His warmth, charisma, and genuine interest in others meant that he was never alone, always finding someone he knew or making new friends.
Donato was also known for his tireless work ethic, always the first to lend a hand and the last to leave when someone needed help. He was a beacon of reliability and care in the community, the kind of man who could be counted on in any situation.
Beyond his social nature, Donato had a deep love for the ocean. He found peace and joy in fishing and spending time at the beach, where he could often be found casting a line or simply enjoying the rhythm of the waves. His connection to the sea was a reflection of his calm and steady presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Donato's words of wisdom will echo in the hearts of those he left behind. He often encouraged others to "keep your head up high and speak with your chest," a mantra that embodied his belief in strength, confidence, and perseverance.
He is survived by his wife, Sonia, his beloved children, Margarita and Michael, and the family and friends who were blessed to have known him.
Visiting hours will be 2-5 pm Sunday at the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, oakhurst, Ocean Township. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
