Donetta Brown was born on May 15, 1947, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Orva and Irma Maurine (Sell) Adams, and she passed away on October 4, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Known for her kindness and dedication, Donetta made significant contributions to her community as both a nurse and a cosmetologist, touching the lives of many through her professions.
Throughout her life, Donetta was involved in numerous activities that showcased her love for service and leadership. She took great pride in her role as Kitchen Leader for all funerals and served as a Food Manager, ensuring that those in need were supported during difficult times. Her musical talent shone through as she took up the mantle of Song Leader, uplifting spirits in various gatherings.
Donetta leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her husband, Floyd, and their three children: Deanna Cheek, Donald Brock, and Darrell Brock. She also leaves two brothers, John Adams and James Adams, two sisters, Virginia Roark and Lynette Dustehoeff, three grandchildren, Kenneth Casey Cheek, Mitchell Andrew Cheek and Darrell Michel Brock, four great-grandchildren, Dymas Nathanial Cheek, Matthios Cheek, McKynna Cobletz and Jacob Ryan Cheek, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends who will remember her warmth and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orva and Irma Adams, two sisters, Irma McKitrick and Orvale Smart, one brother, Francis Holden and one beloved son, Dan Allen Brock.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the Visitation with Family on October 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1000 South Lombard Lane, Skiatook, OK 74070. A Funeral Service will be held the following day, October 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Donetta's spirit, marked by her dedication and love for others, will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
