Donna Carol Ball, age 84 years, 8 months, and 17 days, of Pine Knot, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Stearns First Baptist Church with Bro. Hilton Duncan and Bro. John Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery.
She was born Saturday, December 25, 1937 in Pine Knot to Everett Stephens and Lillie Cooper Stephens. Donna retired as manager of the McCreary County Health Department after thirty years of service. She was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church for over fifty years, where she had taught Sunday School, served in WMU, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed quilting, making baskets, and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. Donna was a true Proverbs 31 woman who loved the Lord and her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Christopher Allan Ball, brothers, Orville Stephens and Ronald Stephens, and sisters, Mable Reeves, Zora Ball, Bertie Marie Reed, Erma Strunk, and Elma.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Ball, whom she married June 14, 1957, a son, Greg Ball, a daughter, Carol Ann Thompson and her husband, John, granddaughter, Aubrey Shannon and her husband, Dustin, grandchildren, Ethan and Makenzie Shannon, step grandchildren, John V. Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Marcy Thomas and her husband, Bryan, and Chynna Williamson, and step great grandchildren, Dakota Baker, John D Thomas, Jayden Thomas, Baylee Thomas, and Landon and Lacey Lindburg.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Donna Ball.
