Donna Marie Fluckiger Colbert
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife and mother, Donna Marie Fluckiger Colbert. Our Heavenly Father called her home on June 15, 2024 after a battle with cancer.
Donna was born on February 13, 1943, to Wilford Ulrich Fluckiger and Clella Cook Fluckiger in Afton Wyoming. She spent her childhood in Star Valley Wyoming. As a teenager she moved with her family to the Salt Lake Valley, where she attended Olympus High School.
She married James Stephen Colbert on August 7, 1964, in Blackfoot Idaho. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was always there when we needed her most, to offer love, support and wisdom. She walked through life with gentle strength and kindness touching the lives of everyone she encountered. Her degree in nursing gave her the opportunity to help many people and bless many lives.
She loved our Heavenly Father and strived to live as he would have her live. She spent much of her time in the service of our Savior through different church callings.
Donna enjoyed creating; from craft projects, to quilts, to beautifying her home. She set a goal of making each grandchild a quilt so that they would know she loved them.
Donna is survived by her husband, James Colbert; her children, Wendy & Tony Mascarenas, Stephen & Amy Colbert, and Tyler & Kimberly Colbert; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Wanda Hulet, Jay DeOrr & Sandra Fluckiger, Marva Green, Duane & Carol Fluckiger, Eva Capron, Mary Ella Taggart, JoLinda & Robert Holm. Along with other family members and friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Wilford and Clella Fluckiger; brothers Lynn Fluckiger, Dean Fluckiger and Jonny Fluckiger and sisters Ruth Draney, Penny Levitt and Julie Glenn.
