Donna, I would not be a nurse educator today without your guidance and mentoring. Oh, did I forget about your patience? I was a very nervous novice in my first role as an educator at The College of New Rochelle when Dean Friesner assigned me to the empty desk in your office. I was so new to the faculty role that I did not know what to ask or what I did not know. You eased me through that first year with subtle suggestions and much listening. Years later, as my Dean, you nurtured and pushed me to be my best. I thank you with all my heart.

My condolences to the family. Dr Demarest was a wonderful Dean at CNR. I graduated back in 2000, grateful to have the opportunity to be her student.

Donna was a deeply thoughtful nursing instructor who alleviated the anxiety of nursing school with her kindness and wisdom. Also, her work with the Lakota people was such an example and inspiration. I am so thankful to have been taught by her. Blessed be her spirit. And may her dear ones be surrounded by love and comfort.

She was a wonderful clinical instructor. She taught and nurtured at the same time. I´m grateful for all that she shared with us as student nurses. May God forever bless this kind and loving woman.
