Donna Evancic Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home - Fitchburg on Feb. 27, 2026.
Ashburnham – Donna M. (Forget) Evancic, 64, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday evening, February 22, 2026 in her home in Ashburnham.

Donna was born in Fitchburg, on April 3, 1961 a daughter of the late Lorraine (Landry) Forget and grew up in the city, graduating from St. Bernard's High School in 1979 and Mount Wachusett Community College.

Donna worked as a service teller at TD Bank for several years and prior to that had worked at Demoulas Market Basket for over 34 years.

Her sense of humor and quick wit would brighten your day. She was thoughtful, kind, and compassionate. The love she had for her family and the pride she had for her wonderful children was immeasurable.

Donna always brought the family together for every occasion whether it be the holidays, special celebrations or just to be together for a cookout by the pool on a Sunday afternoon. Her home was always the gathering place, keeping everyone together, and she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

She will be remembered and missed as a loving mother, sister, daughter, and wife. She will be especially missed for the light and warmth she gave to everyone with her beautiful smile, laughter and love.

She leaves her husband of 39 years Geoffrey Evancic of Ashburnham; two sons, Jason Evancic of Manchester, NH and Nathan Evancic and his wife Ana of Sunderland, MA, a daughter, Kathryn Evancic and her husband, Joseph Prendergast of Groton, MA; her father, Leo Forget of Fitchburg; two sisters, Renee Letourneau and her husband Kenneth of Ashburnham, MA and Lisa Forget and her partner Timothy Mulcahy of Westminster, MA. Along with her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6 at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. A reception at the church will be held after the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's cemetery.
