Donna Fullem Obituary

UTICA – Mrs. Donna Marie (Martin) Fullem, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Born in Utica, on April 5, 1940, Donna was the daughter of the late James D. and Jane E. (Waterman) Martin. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. Donna married her high school sweetheart, Francis W. "Bill" Fullem, on September 27, 1958. The blessing of their union brought them three sons. Donna began working at Pacciarelli's Grocery Store, on James St., then accepted employment as part of the cafeteria team at Notre Dame Schools. In each position, she balanced her work and home life with great care.

Donna loved gardening and tending to her flowers and vegetables. She was also talented at knitting and creating ceramics. She loved traveling to Florida to visit her family and enjoyed spending time in nature, including a few nights camping.

At one time, Donna was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. She later found a spiritual home at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; children, Kevin Fullem, Mark Fullem and Dr. Brian and Ann Marie Fullem; grandchildren, Kenny Fullem, Aaron Fullem and Aidan Fullem; and sisters, Patricia Carroll (the late Edward Carroll) and Mary Lou Martin. She held, close to her heart, the memories of her brother and sister-in-law, James M. "Jim" and Philomena M. "Phyllis" Martin, who preceded her. She also leaves, to cherish her memory, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and in-laws, Kathy Fullem (the late Jim Fullem) and Paul Fullem. She was additionally predeceased by her in-laws, Don and Eleanor Fullem; and nephew, Jim Fullem, who gave his life to his country while serving in the United States Marine Corps.

In honoring Donna's wishes, there will be no public services. Inurnment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
