Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Mar. 9, 2026.
With hearts steadfast in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, we joyfully celebrate the beautiful life of Donna Hoskison, who entered the presence of her Savior on March 9, 2026, at the age of 87 in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born on April 10, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Pluma and Gilpin Stumpff, Donna's life was a radiant testimony of unwavering faith, deep love, and joyful service. From a young age, she trusted fully in the Lord and clung to the promises of Scripture through every season. Her faith was not simply spoken - it was lived. Anyone who encountered Donna experienced the warmth of Christ through her words, her hospitality, and her quiet strength. Through her example and witness, many were drawn closer to the Lord.
Donna was raised in a lively household of eight children - seven sisters and one brother - all tucked into a cozy two-bedroom home with a single bathroom. Though space was tight (especially on school mornings), their home overflowed with laughter, patience, and abiding love. Those early years shaped Donna's lifelong devotion to family and togetherness.
Music was woven deeply into her spirit. Gifted with a natural love for song, she joined several of her sisters to form a singing group that became well known across the state, often invited to perform at public gatherings and special events. In later years, they lovingly recorded a CD as a tribute to their precious mother in celebration of her 95th birthday - a lasting gift of harmony and honor.
Donna's strong work ethic was inspired by watching her mother faithfully manage both their busy household and the bookkeeping for her father's construction business late into the evenings. Donna carried that diligence into her own life, working for a time at the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Oklahoma City. Yet her most treasured calling was her home - pouring herself wholeheartedly into raising her four children and supporting her beloved husband. Later in life, she joyfully reunited with several sisters in creating a small home furnishings boutique, blending creativity with cherished family partnership once again.
A devoted member of Lake View Park Church of the Nazarene, Donna served faithfully in youth ministry, often opening her own home for young adult gatherings. Her door - and her heart - were always open. Through prayer, encouragement, and gracious hospitality, she reflected the love of Christ to family, friends, and strangers alike. Her life echoed the truth of Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." She lived anchored in that refuge.
At the center of her earthly joy was her beloved husband, Tom, whom she first met in the fifth grade at Bethany Public School. She often fondly recalled their first meeting, when Tommy, new to the school, noticed Donna -"that beautiful green-eyed girl"- and sensed it might be the beginning of a story God was writing. What began as a childhood friendship blossomed into a lifelong love story. Donna and Tom were married on November 1, 1956, and shared nearly 62 years of faithful devotion before his passing in 2018. Their marriage was a beautiful reflection of covenant love-steady, tender, and enduring.
Donna's greatest earthly treasures were her children - Kim, Keith, Karl, and Patti - and their spouses. She delighted in gatherings filled with fellowship, storytelling, and laughter. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren - Chelsea, Cory, Clarissa, Brandon, Joshua, Kayla, and Collin - and her precious great-granddaughter, Zora. Each carries forward the faith, strength, and love she so faithfully modeled.
While we grieve her absence, we do not grieve without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). Donna has received the words she longed to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant," (Matthew 25:23). Her life was poured out in devotion to Christ and in steadfast love for her family. The seeds of faith she planted will continue to flourish for generations to come.
