Donna M. Knobloch Knight
Donna M. Knobloch Knight of Erie, PA, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was born in 1928 in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Horace "Monk" Knobloch and Leona Fromknect Knobloch.
In her youth, Donna worked at Grants then at the Bell Telephone Co. as an operator and was in the Civil Air Patrol. She was a member of the Homemaker's Garden Club and in 1960 she joined the Lawrence Park Garden Club, where she received several awards. In 1970, she became a founding member of the Erie Guild of Craftsmen. After she and Ray raised their five children, Donna worked at Erie Cut Flower, Potratz, Flowers on the Square and Rose Floral as a floral designer. She had a tremendous passion for gardening, researching everything, and crafting in a host of mediums. Her crafts were as unique and as beautiful as she was. Donna was always excited to share her vast knowledge and loved to give away her numerous garden plants to future enthusiasts.
Donna is survived by five children, Sondra Marshall (A. William), Kathi Danielson (Kim), Richard A. Knight (Suzanne), Brenda Knight and James W. Knight (Tiffany); two sisters, Carol Howell and Marlene Krahel; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Ray" Knight; and one brother, David M. Knobloch.
Words cannot convey how Donna will be greatly missed by her friends and her family. Her joy has touched many lives.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday, October 26th, from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Donna was such a great librarian for the ERIE Guild of Craftsmen for so many years, as well as being a wonderful crafter. She had such a good following for her seed painting classes at the shows,-beautiful work. Donna was a delight to know.

Donna had so much knowledge about plants, insects, birds and the environment around her. I loved listening to her and she was so happy to share her knowledge. She was such a valued member the Lawrence Park Garden Club. She will be missed.

In the hot summer of 1969, I often visited Sondra having many nice talks while sitting on her porch in Lawrence Park. Donna would always be kind enough to offer me a glass of freshly made ice cold lemonade, which was a very loving and kind gesture I felt as I was a teenager visiting her daughter. May she find peace as she rests in the loving arms of Jesus. Prayers to her family during this time. May she rest in peace. Jim Spizarny

Donna was a wonderful person and a very important part of the Lawrence Park Garden Club. She had so much knowledge about plants and flowers which she generously shared with our members. I still remember her her teaching us how to make beautiful decorations with dried flowers, it was so fun and something we all enjoyed. She will be GREATLY missed. Condolences to her family...
