Donna Lohmeyer Obituary

Donna M. Lohmeyer, 71, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Donna was born June 21, 1954, in La Prairie, IL to Albert and Alice (Marsh) Loeschen. She was married to Terry Lohmeyer on July 13, 1978, in Quincy, IL.

Other survivors include her three children, Jason L. Lohmeyer (Willa Carter) of Quincy, Joel R. Lohmeyer (Amber) of Maradosha, and Melissa M. Lohmeyer of Quincy; four grandchildren, Carter Kramer, Austin Kramer, Quenton Lohmeyer, and Kayden "McNasty" Kramer; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Lockett and Aussie Kramer; and one brother, Bruce Loeschen (Riley).

Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

A graduate of Unity High School in 1972, Donna initially dedicated her life to being a homemaker, a role she embraced with love and dedication, ensuring a warm and nurturing environment for her young children. As they grew, Donna ventured into the workforce, leaving her mark at South End Plants and Produce and Tangerine Bowl. Her work ethic and amiable nature made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and customers alike.

Donna's life was rich with interests and hobbies that reflected her vibrant spirit. She had a keen eye for landscaping, transforming her home into a welcoming oasis for family and friends. Her creative flair shone brightly as she decorated her home with festive cheer during the holidays. An avid fan of entertainment, Donna could often be found enjoying episodes of "Gunsmoke," diving into the magical world of "Harry Potter," or watching "Escape from NY." Her passion for sports was evident as she rooted for the Chiefs and Cubs with unwavering enthusiasm.

One of Donna's most treasured experiences was a trip out west, where she marveled at the beauty of Colorado and the majesty of Pikes Peak. However, it was the simple pleasures in life that Donna cherished most deeply. She relished the times spent with her children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to support them at their events. Her culinary skills were legendary, especially her corn pone pie, and she took great delight in gathering her loved ones for pizza-making sessions. Donna's love for car rides in the country with her family will be fondly remembered as moments of pure joy and togetherness.

Donna's legacy is one of love, devotion, and the enduring bonds of family. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.
