DONNA L. METTS
Donna L. Metts, 85, of Florahome passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a brief illness.
Donna was born in Westmoreland Township, Pennsylvania. She left home at age 16 to marry Bobby Metts whom she loved dearly. She held a variety of jobs, including working as an aide in a psychiatric hospital, and after many years retired as a senior officer for the Ohio and Pennsylvania Turnpike Authority.
She and Bobby then moved to Lake Worth, FL where they lived for the next six years and opened a security company. She loved to camp and she and Bobby travelled throughout the state to many different campsites. She and Bobby moved to Florahome where she lived for the past 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Esther Heppell; her husband, Robert "Bobby" Metts; and two sons, Robert Metts, Jr., and David Metts.
She is survived by one brother, Charles Harvey; two sisters, Joyce Howard and Pearl Lyons; and one grandson, Michael Metts.
It was Donna's wish there be no services. She will be entombed at a later date at Palatka Memorial Gardens.
