Donna Marie Mihaly

Donna Marie Mihaly, age 88 of Davidsonville, MD, went home to be with our Lord on December 23, 2025 while at home.

She was born April 21, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Paul Jungling and Marie Hickson Jungling.

After graduating from St. Mary of the Mount High School in Pittsburgh, she attained her RN degree from Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing, also of Pittsburgh.

She quickly followed those milestones with her marriage to Stephen R. Mihaly. The family grew quickly and a career move was made to the Washington D.C. area. With upcoming additions to the family, they eventually settled in Bowie, MD.

For over 40 years Donna enjoyed a passionate career in nursing, most of which was spent at North Arundel Hospital, now known as UMBW Medical Center. After numerous positions ranging from floor nurse to assistant director of nursing, she retired as a nurse recruiter.

Donna was a very social and outgoing person who loved being with family and friends. Her earlier years were filled with raising 5 children, her career, and a robust social life. She loved traveling, spending time at the shore, puzzles, on-line games of chance, and watching her favorite teams, the Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers. Her later life centered around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always looking forward to the next visit. She enjoyed catching up with relatives, longtime friends, former work colleagues, and the ladies at bingo. As a lifelong Catholic and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Donna had a deep and enduring love of God that carries her into His arms.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and the love of her life, Stephen R. (Ron) Mihaly. She was also preceded in death by her son Richard; her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Bernard Tokarczyk; her niece, Lynn Tokarczyk; and her nephew, Thomas Tokarczyk.

She is survived by her children: Ronald Mihaly (Patricia), Patricia Hodges (Jesse), Michael Mihaly (Joanne), Sean Mihaly (Julie Herford) and Cheryl Mihaly (wife of Richard dec.).

She leaves behind nine grandchildren: Michael Hodges, Jessica Forrest, Casey Plugge, Dean Mihaly, Andrew Mihaly, Alexandra Mihaly, Anthony Mihaly, Sean Mihaly, Ryan Mihaly, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She also leaves five nephews: Bernard, Michael, Robert, William, and Timothy Tokarczyk.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Donna's memory to the American Heart Association.
