Donna Murphy Obituary
SCHENECTADY – Donna Taber Murphy, 65, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at home after a sudden illness.
Donna was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Walter and Julie Daversa Taber. She was a 1978 graduate of Linton High School and worked for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance for 37 years. Donna was the heart of the family, the gentle force that kept everyone connected. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother whose grandchildren lit up her world. She cherished every moment spent with her family; whether sharing the music she loved or enjoying a summer pool gatherings.
Donna is survived by her husband Michael Murphy, whom she married on June 24, 1989; and her children, Erin Murphy and Michael Murphy; grandchildren, Cameron Jackson, and Alex Williams, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, on Sunday from 2-4pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Hospital at StJude.org.
