Donna Petruna Obituary

Donna M. Petruna (nee DeAngelis), age 67, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly from complications of surgery, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.She was born on May 16, 1954 in Lorain where she lived her entire life and is a 1972 graduate of Admiral King High School. After high school graduation she attended Lorain County Community College to take classes for Medical Terminology. She then began her career at the former Community Health Partners Hospital in Lorain where most of her years working there were in the insurance verification department. Donna retired from the hospital after working there for over 40 years. She is a member of St. Peter’s Church in Lorain.Donna adored her 3 grandsons, Christian, Benjamin, and Donovan. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress, making all sorts of clothing. She is survived by her husband, Ted, son, Christopher (Teresa) Goforth, 3 grandsons, brother, Dennis (Catherine) DeAngelis, sister, Andrea (Bill) Sturgill, brother, John (Ellen) DeAngelis, as well many nieces and nephews.Donna was preceded in death by her parents; Andrew & Madeline (nee Mancini) DeAngelis, and her grandmother, Anna Mancini.The family is holding private services. So sorry to hear about Donna passing away. She was my 1st steady girlfriend at AKHS. We met at the Lorain Youth Center. Although we parted ways we remained friends. She was one of the nicest girls I have ever known. I will remember her in my prayers every day from now on.
