Donna J. Ray, 87, passed away December 16, 2023, in her hometown of Rockford. She was born on September 1, 1936, daughter to Ray and Edith (McCormick) Clark. She went on to marry Richard Froehle in 1957, sharing one year of marriage before his unfortunate passing in 1958. Later, she met Richard Ray and celebrated 24 years of marriage before his passing in 1990. She was a long-time member at St. Bernadette and Holy Family Catholic Church. She was also proud to be in the Morning Glory Garden Club, and the Movers Bowling League. She enjoyed socializing with her family and friends, creating many memories over monthly lunch dates.
She is survived by those who loved her most, her children Scott (Kimberly) Ray, and Marla Anderson. Her numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and dog Daisy. A very special thank you to Nadine and Cindy for all the help and care that they've shown to Donna. She is predeceased by her husband Richard Froehle and husband Richard Ray; her brothers Bruce and Virgil Clark.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local VFW.
