Donna Sapp Richardson

Donna Sapp Richardson, 66, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 in an automobile accident. Born in Virginia on February 12, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Lester Eugene Sapp and Agnes Mae Childress Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gina Marie Livesay.

Donna spent her working years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and then a Cardiovascular Technician. She enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael “Red” Lee Richardson; son, Michael Holt Richardson and wife, Alexandria Nix-Richardson; grandchildren, Anthony Shelley, Lilly Shelley, Michaela Richardson, Michael Nix-Spain, Angelina Langford, and Greyson Richardson; brothers, James Perdue and Raymond “Allen” Sapp, Sr.; sister, Robin Temple; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Wanda Richardson, Rita Williams, Lisa Louis and Vernie and Angie Wall. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
